It has been hypothesised that, in the evolution of Homo sapiens, there has been
selection for docility and social tolerance, leading to a self-domestication of the
human species. If so, political, cultural and institutional mechanisms may have
affected the nature of human sociality. This project explores the consequences of
such hypothesis for moral and political philosophy.
